A Victorian in Eureka

     A few years ago, my husband (at the time) and I endeavored to buy our first home, a Victorian in Eureka. Being from LA the idea of buying locally left our grasp quickly as the cost and scope of what I wanted did not exist there. We found it in Eureka, CA. though. What I did not realize at the time was what I was buying was soooo much more that just a house. It was a vision (some would say ridiculous idea) but what ever it was, we closed the sale, got the keys and were moving to Humboldt County.

     The house was a 3500 square foot Victorian beauty built circa 1871, with an incredible history and the need for a lot of love and maybe even botox! She and I have become best of friends over the years and I will share about her transformation quite a bit on this blog. For now, here is what The Victorian Eureka looked like when we purchased her.
